Beginner Class: Introduction to Pickleball Basics

These classes are a great way for brand new players to learn the sport of Pickleball. No experience necessary to join this class. Players receive 60 minutes instruction plus 60 minutes playing time. Players will learn all the basics to be able to play. We will cover equipment, unique lingo, score keeping, court position, and the fundamentals of serve, return, and the volley. The class will be capped at 6 players but there will be a waitlist available. Please signup as soon as possible to secure a spot in these popular and in demand classes. These classes are for Individuals ages 15 and older.

What is it? 
This is a group class aimed at those with little to no experience of pickleball and who want to learn the basics and then apply that new knowledge in actual game play.   

What does it cover?
 Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics about the court, court safety, rules, serving & receiving, scoring, court position, court etiquette and, of course, playing a game.  

Why should I take this class? 
This class is an ideal introduction to the game of pickleball. Not only will you learn the nuts and bolts of the game and have chance to play, you will also get to meet other people like you who are curious to explore this great game.  We're confident that once you play, you'll be hooked and definitely be coming back for more. Exercise never felt this good!  

What should I wear? 
Be comfortable and wear clothing that allows you to move freely. Our indoor facility is minimally heated and is not air conditioned. Depending upon the time of year, layering is a good idea.  Footwear is important and we recommend, but do not require, court shoes. These provide the right type of foot support for the movements that you are likely to be making while playing. We also recommend some form of eye protection. This can be shatter resistant eye glasses, safety glasses or even empty frames. Again, this is a recommendation and not a requirement.  

Do I need to bring anything else with me? 
If you have your own paddle, great - bring it with you. Otherwise, don't worry, we have a few available. If you do not have a paddle and would like to borrow one, please make a note in the comments. Pickleballs will also be provided. Bring water. Hydration is important, particularly in warmer weather. Bring a smile. If you don't have one, no problem - we'll provide you with one shortly after you start playing!  

I'm already registered, but I need to change/cancel my registration. What should I do? 
That depends upon how close you are to the scheduled start time of the class and what type of change you would like to make.  We generally require 24 hours’ notice for cancellation.   If you are a no show or cancel in less than 24 hours then only 80% will be refunded back to you.

Do you require a minimum number of students in order to run this class? 
We generally aim to have at least three students per class. However, at the instructor's discretion, the class may proceed with less. If your chosen class is cancelled due to an insufficient student number, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund of your registration fee. 

Do you guys know what you're talking about? 
Good question! But when it comes to pickleball, that's an unequivocal "Yes". All our instructors are certified by the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR).

3 players work with Courtney in a very interactive lesson. Skills and mechanics can be worked on in real time play, with the Pro as one of the players.

SMALL GROUP LESSON: 4 PLAYERS
This lesson type is a great opportunity for a small group to work on improving their playing style and mechanics. The Teaching Pro is able to properly diagnose and correct your mechanics as they view you from all angles during play. Both mechanics and strategy can be discussed effectively in this lesson type.
