TRE is a self care technique based on the understanding that in stressful and traumatic situations the human body is genetically wired to both protect and heal itself. The practice of TRE assists the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma, by safely activating the body’s natural reflex mechanism of shaking - or vibrating - thus reducing muscular tension and bringing the entire nervous system back toward homeostasis.

*If you've never experienced Tre before, it's mandatory to have an introductory session and consultation, both to determine your needs and goals, but also for me to get a sense of where your body and nervous system are at so that I can calibrate the practice and session to your specific needs.

WHO IS TRE MOST SUITABLE FOR?

TRE is for everyone, as all of us are carrying some degree of unresolved stress/tension around in our nervous system. Additionally, TRE has also been shown to help reduce the psychological, emotional, and/or physical impact of:

- Traumatic injuries
- Chronic illness
- Sexual assault/abuse
- War trauma
- Verbal and physical violence
- Surgeries/invasive medical procedures
- Fatigue and vicarious trauma often experienced by those in wellness professions
- The stresses we all face day to day in the modern world

Because TRE is psychosomatic and works directly on our nervous system, it’s also possible for some people to experience relief from unresolved traumas without necessarily needing to “relive” the traumatic experience directly in the form a story. This can be a big relief for those not wishing to literally regress and relive a particularly painful event.

TRE is also suitable and adaptable for people of all ages and levels of fitness, as the exercises can all be modified to accommodate anybody’s needs. Of course everyone is unique, and thus each session is ultimately about attending to the clients unique and subjective needs.

It can be done in groups, or with the on-going support of a skilled facilitator in one-on-one sessions both in person and online. Finally, it’s suggested to have at least 5-7 sessions with an experienced provider first, after which time most people can practice TRE one their own for their own benefit.
